This workshop, titled "The Fabric of Grassroots Solidarity: Other Perspectives on the Production of Migration Routes Beyond Europe," will be held in Marseille on January 8-9, 2025. It aims to create a space for dialogue and reflection between two research networks, MOVIDA and SOLROUTES, focusing on solidarity and the production of migration routes from a non-Eurocentric perspective.

Contemporary international migration is shaped by an ever-growing number of factors, from the impact of climate change to the increasing differentiation of labour flows, from the globalization of migration governance to the intensification of transnational diasporic networks. Not only have such dimensions created new migratory patterns and experiences, but they have also given rise to a greater diversity of migrants in terms of age, gender, social class, provenance, etc.
