Exploring Migration Dynamics at Rencontres Scientifiques in Morocco
Join SOLROUTES and other scholars, activists, and civil society members in Rabat, Morocco from November 13-15, 2024, to delve into these critical discussions.
Located at the crossroads of the Mediterranean and the Sahel-Saharan regions, Morocco’s history has been shaped by diverse populations. Traditionally a country of emigration, Morocco has also become a site of diverse immigration over the past two decades, earning its reputation as a ‘migratory crossroads.’
The second Rencontres Scientifiques, “Terrain(s) de migrations au Maroc,” offers a platform to analyze Morocco’s migratory dynamics through various scientific perspectives. Key themes include the temporalities of waiting in migration, interactions between unauthorized migrations and solidarity, migration and development, and innovative methodological approaches such as using images in migration studies.
