Upcoming Workshop at KritNet Conference: “Between Route-Making and Route-Policing”

Göttingen, Germany – October 25-27, 2024: Paolo Cuttitta and Federico Rahola, alongside Sebastian Cobarrubias and Maurice Stierl, will lead an insightful workshop titled “Between Route-Making and Route-Policing” at the KritNet conference, themed “Repositioning Critical Border and Migration Regime Studies in the Face of Authoritarian Turns.”

This workshop aims to address the ethnographic and conceptual issues surrounding the creation and regulation of migration routes. It will explore how routes, often seen as mere pathways, are actually dynamic spaces shaped by the interactions between migrants and border regimes.

The KritNet conference will gather scholars, activists, and civil society members to discuss the pressing issues of migration and border regimes in the current political climate. The event promises to be a crucial platform for sharing knowledge and strategies to counteract the authoritarian shifts affecting migration policies across Europe.
